Your Opportunity: Taylor Healthcare, a division of Taylor Corporation, is looking for a Medical Writer / Editor (editor/writer/knowledgebase coordinator) to assist in the development and maintenance of a library of procedure-specific informed consent materials. This role would be perfect for someone coming from a nursing or healthcare/clinical background looking to use their skills in a new way while also having the ability to work remotely.
Your Responsibilities:
- Research informed consent topics and write or edit consent form text related to procedure descriptions, risks, and alternatives. Synchronize and coordinate a document’s text with other similar topics. An editor manages a library of topics and must maintain their relatedness.
- Tag documents with a variety of metadata as appropriate (CPT codes, keywords, topic families).
- Write at a 6th grade reading level.
- Decide topics to include in the library (or exclude) on a specialty-by-specialty basis.
- Work in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as a proprietary content management system.
You Must Have:
- Four-year degree and/or commensurate hospital or other clinical experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology – prior hospital or clinical experience required – nurses encouraged to apply!
- Strong computer skills – word processing, internet research, and an understanding of database concepts
- Exceptional organizational/analytical skills (required to keep the library synchronized, organized and consistent) – this is more important for the position than creativity
- Exceptional written communication skills
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability, especially pertaining to changing processes
We Would Also Prefer:
- Ability to speak/read in Spanish
- Familiarity with software development concepts
